Government-grade DNS security. Built for scale.

Escudo is a protective DNS platform built in Rust — a memory-safe language used by Cloudflare, Discord, and the Linux kernel. Maximum performance at minimum infrastructure cost.

Why Rust

Cloudflare rewrote their edge in Rust. Discord replaced Go microservices with Rust and saw 10x latency improvements. The Linux kernel accepted Rust as its second language after C. There is a reason the most performance-critical infrastructure in the world is converging on Rust.

Escudo is written entirely in Rust. This means memory safety without garbage collection pauses. Zero-cost abstractions that compile down to machine code. And a type system that catches entire categories of bugs at compile time rather than in production at 3 AM.

The result: a DNS security platform that processes blocklist lookups in microseconds, runs on minimal infrastructure, and costs a fraction of what legacy security vendors charge.

Protective DNS is government policy

This is not a novel idea. Governments worldwide have recognized DNS-layer security as the single most efficient interception point for cyber threats.

Escudo brings the same architecture — threat intelligence feeds, real-time blocklists, heuristic analysis — to organizations and families who cannot build it themselves.

Three markets, one codebase

Families

Free tier blocks malware, phishing, and fraud domains. Parents get content filtering and device-level controls. No software to install — change one DNS setting and every device is protected.

Businesses

Compliance-ready DNS security without deploying agents or appliances. Forensic logging with tamper-evident hash chains. Per-department policies. Works with any device on the network.

Internet Providers

White-label protective DNS as a competitive differentiator. Automatic subscriber detection. Per-customer isolation. Turns a commodity connection into a security product.

DNS resolvers run in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Falkenstein (Germany). Management infrastructure operates from Nuremberg. Threat intelligence aggregates 18 feeds covering malware, phishing, command-and-control, ad tracking, and telemetry domains — refreshed every five minutes, deduplicated, and normalized into a unified blocklist.
